The Herald Business Awards

Thursday 1st May 2014 is the evening of The Herald Business Awards 2014. We are delighted to say that we will be sponsoring the Corporate Social Responsibility Award (CSR) which will go to the business which has made a significant contribution to the community, which may be reflected in facilities it provides, the number of people it has helped, or the scope of its interest or the extent of its expansion.

We recognise the huge difference CSR donations can have in the community whether that be through volunteering, 'in kind' services of a cash donation. We are keen to promote CSR to local businesses as we have first hand experience of great CSR from the Plymouth Science Park, Royal Mail and Devon and Cornwall Police. Without these organisation we would not be where we are now and thus feel other businesses should look to promote CSR within their communities.

Stay tuned for photos and information on the night itself and an interview with our award winner...

Craig McWhinnie our CEO along with 3 of our Trustees, Paul Davies, Nigel Pitt and Steve Pearce attended on behalf of the Plymouth Drake Foundation. The evening was a very glamorous occasion with many worthy winners taking home prizes on the night.

Our sponsored prize had 3 nominees; Plymouth CityBus, Gill Akaster Solicitors and Gard & Co Solicitors. Steve Pearce presented the award and the winner of the 2014 Herald Business Awards CSR award was Plymouth CityBus!

Richard Stevens collected the award on behalf of the company and is pictured holding the prize below:
