Oasis are based in a community café and provide practical training, emotional support and, if sought, spiritual guidance.

They run a  work club, dyslexia screening, maths, ICT and English tuition, English for Speakers of Other Languages, healthy cooking classes and an art group.

They have coffee mornings for older people, help people with forms and benefit problems and people are regularly referred to us by agencies such as the job centre and probation as we have time to listen to people and help them move forward. Together with our sister project, the Plymouth Foodbank we offer a range of volunteering opportunities and through this help many people with learning difficulties or disabilities or mental health issues.

The training was for their volunteers to help them maintain professional boundaries when dealing with the people that use the centre.
