Plymouth Drake Foundation awarded the Tectona Trust £100 towards a day long skippers course for a valued member of their volunteer team.
The outcome of the training was:
1. Added capacity on deck of the training boat.
2. Adding to the volunteers exceptional enthusiasm for sailing and increasing her skill in traditional seamanship to enhance the quality of our work the chairty offers to their beneficaries.
3. Through being a 'disadvantaged' person herself, the volunteer will become a very positive role-model for younger people - adding value to their work.
The aim of the Tectona Trust is to promote adventure sailing voyages for people of all ages, especially those recovering from misuse of drugs and alcohol
