Youth Hardship Fund | November 2014

The Plymouth Drake Foundation and The Zone have been working together for two years now to deliver the Youth Hardship Fund. This fund has been critical in helping so many young people in Plymouth avoid times of financial crisis. It's first year saw £9,399.48 be awarded to young people in Plymouth.

Plymouth Drake Foundation donated £10,000 to The Zone and they use their expertise to assess each individual and grant them the amount they need - the amount is small, in fact in the funds first year the average grant was just £22.

Year 2 of the fund started in December 2013 and had gained many admires and support from local people. Our old Lord Mayor Vivien Pengelly used the Youth Hardship Fund as one of her chosen charities and thanks to her efforts we are delighted to announce that the fund will continue for a third year. Our biggest thanks go out to Vivien and her team.

A full report will be released soon for year 2 of which £6,300 has already been donated to The Zone. For more information on the Fund and how you can help support please contact the office or come in for a chat.
